What do I do if I have a maintenance issue in my unit?
- Place a work order either by calling the maintenance line or by visiting the management office.
- If you have placed a work order but the maintenance issue has not been resolved, contact your property manager to check on the status.
- If you are not receiving a status or a timely response from management, you may contact WAHC.
What do I do if I am having issues with another tenant?
- If the other tenant is committing a lease violation, submit a written complaint to management.
- Request a meeting with management to discuss your concerns.
- If you are not satisfied with how the situation is being handled after trying steps 1 and 2, request a copy of the Grievance Procedure. The Grievance Procedure will list the property manager’s supervisor and their contact information. If after speaking with the supervisor, you still feel your situation is not being handled properly, you may contact WAHC.
What do I do if I am having issues with the Property Manager?
- If you feel the Property Manager is not treating you fairly or professionally, request a copy of the property’s Grievance Procedure.
- The Grievance Procedure will list the property manager’s supervisor and their contact information. If after speaking with the supervisor, you still feel your situation is not being handled properly, you may contact WAHC.
- You may choose to submit a Fair Housing complaint if you feel you are being discriminated based on a protected class. See the Fair Housing Complaint link in the Tenant Resources below.
What do I do if I don’t think my tenant rent has been calculated correctly?
- Request a meeting with the Property Manager to discuss why you don’t believe your rent is calculated correctly. The manager can explain the HUD rules and regulations that determine your rent and will be able to make any corrections that might arise from error.
- If you still feel your rent is not being calculated correctly, request a copy of the Grievance Procedure. The Grievance Procedure will list the property manager’s supervisor and their contact information. If after speaking with the supervisor, you still feel your rent is not being calculated properly, you may contact WAHC.
